Africa Red Circle: Wonders of Morocco 7-day Circular Tour

【Sundays】 Casablanca → Marrakech (244km, approx. 3.5 hours)

Departure by bus to Marrakech for a sightseeing. We will see the Koutoubia Mosque, Jardin Majorelle-Yves Saint Laurent Mansion, and the Bahia Palace, the best preserved royal palace in Morocco. There are old Moroccan fortune tellers, Indian snake dancers, Arabs selling spices, various kinds of art shows, countless street food, clothing, leather and handicraft stalls... The place is bustling with people throughout the day and night, bringing endless vitality to Marrakech, and it is a must-see destination for tourists.

【Mondays】 Marrakech → Aït Benhaddou the Fortified Village (180km about 4 hours by car) → Quarzazate (40km about 1 hour by car)

After the tour, you will arrive at Aït Benhaddou the Fortified Village, a United Nations World Heritage Site. Known as the most beautiful old village in Morocco, this village is built with the terracotta mud bricks that characterize this area, showing the charm of Morocco's red color. Afterwards, you will go to Quarzazate and visit the Atlas Film Studios, the so-called "Hollywood of Africa", where many Hollywood movies have been shot, including Cleopatra(1962), Lawrence of Arabia(1962), Sahara(1983), Jewel of the Nile(1985), Spy Game(2001), etc.

【Tuesdays】Quarzazate → The Todgha Gorges (170km, approx. 3.5 hours) → Merzouga (150km, approx. 3 hours)

Travel by bus to Merzouga, passing through the renowned Todgha Gorges, enjoying the natural landscape with its desolate red and brown rocks. Afternoon arrival at the gateway to the Sahara Desert - Merzouga, famous for the Sahara dunes that vary in shape and hue with natural sunlight, appearing in different shades of gold and pink, and making it a unique desert scenery of Moloch, the Sahara of people's dreams. Here you can see the highest red sand dunes in Africa.

【Wednesdays】Merzouga → Ifrane (400km drive about 7 hours) → Fes (70km drive about 1 hour)

Take a coach to Fes, one of the four ancient royal cities of Morocco, and pass through Ifrane, a city in the middle of the Atlas Mountains at an altitude of 1,600 meters, at midday. Known as Little Switzerland, Ifrane is a famous ski resort and the most European style town in Morocco. After a short tour, we will continue to drive to Fes.

【Thursdays】Fes → Meknes (60km drive about 1 hour) → Chefchaouen (170km drive about 4 hours)

In the morning, you will visit the ancient city of Fes, which was built in the 9th century AD. You will be transported back a thousand years to a time when donkeys were still the primary means of transportation. The Old City is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, including The Madrasa Bou Inania, The Zawiya of Moulay Idris II, the Bab Bou Jeloud, and the first university in the world,the University of Al-qarawiyyin, all of which are UNESCO protected monuments; the blue mosaic buildings can be seen everywhere in the city, and a visit to the handicrafts such as copper plates, carpets and dye workshops is a must-see. In the afternoon, you will visit Meknes, the ancient city of Islam. The city's walls are magnificent, and the Mansor Gate, a symbol of victory and triumph, is famous throughout the world, after which you will visit the Royal Stables of Meknes, and then proceed to Chefchaouen.

【Fridays】 Chefchaouen → Rabat (253km drive about 4 hours)

In the morning, we will start to visit the fascinating blue mountain town of Chefchaouen, which is the most famous tourist spot in Morocco. The small narrow street with blue stairs make this small town a must-see for tourists, and the strong Arabian atmosphere and fantasy sky blue everywhere decorate this town like an exclusive paradise. The "must-see place of a lifetime" is well deserved in this city. In the afternoon, we will continue to Rabat, the capital of Morocco.

【Saturdays】 Rabat → Casablanca (90km driving distance about 1.5 hours)

Rabat is the second largest city by the Atlantic Ocean and is the center of Morocco's politics and culture. It is a modern and historical city divided into two parts: The Old City and the New City, which is a good place for summer tourism because of the seasonal greenery, the Royal Palace of Rabat, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, the Kasbah of the Udayas and the Chellah are some of remarkable attractions. After the tour, we will go to Casablanca and visit the Hassan II Mosque, the second largest mosque in the world, occupying two hectares of land, with a prayer hall that seats 25,000 worshippers. The city of Casablanca, known worldwide for the immortal movie Casablanca(1942), is in fact an industrial and commercial city with a population of over 5 million, known for its traffic jams and chaos.
